Following from the hugely enthusiastic response that was evident last year, the Nations Trust – American Express Golf Extravaganza that will be conducted on a Stableford Format will tee off on Saturday the 21st January 2009 at the Royal Colombo Golf Club. This year, the tournament has gotten bigger and has attracted more than 250 players with the morning session commencing on a shot gun start at 7am and the second set of players teeing–off at 1pm. This probably the first time that two shotgun starts have been had on the same day at the RCGC. The Seniors and Ladies events will be worked out the day before commencing 1.00pm.

The tournament will be conducted in the following categories; Men's -Group A Handicap 0–9, Group B Handicap 10–18, Group C Handicap 19–28 as well as Seniors and Lades. A handsome prize awaits the overall winner whilst division winners and Nations American Express customers will also be rewarded. The most accurate drive on each flight will be rewarded on the 15th and the Circle of Fortune awaits the brave on the 9th. Proceedings will conclude with fellowship, cocktails and entertainment on Saturday evening. The tournament is a key event in the bank's corporate calendar and is expected to deliver an exciting day of golf for all participants, the majority of whom are customers of the bank.
