Nations Trust Bank takes extended banking hours to the people in Jaffna

Nations Trust Bank opens their 40th branch in “Yalpanam” Jaffna, giving residents in the North an opportunity to experience exceptional service in banking combined with extended banking hours 365 days of the year. NTB will now connect Jaffna with the rest of the country helping the people of the area to reach out through a banking network that’s connected island wide offering greater convenience for all their transactional needs.

The new branch was declared open on the 07th of June, 2010 in the presence of distinguished invitees and key personalities in keeping with the Tamil and Hindu culture. Commenting on the opening of this branch, Dr. Ranee Jayamaha, Advisor to the President on Banking said “Economic development in the Northern Province would be facilitated through the enhancement of banking operations, thereby leading to greater financial inclusion and better access to finance. Towards that end, the Government and the Central Bank is deeply committed, and I congratulate Nations Trust Bank for opening their branch in Jaffna today”

The NTB branch in Jaffna is based on an international design concept and is situated at 35, Stanley Road, which is a location that is easily accessible from all roads leading to the town thus offering customers banking services with the ultimate in international banking standards and local warmth.

A number of activities were organized to co-inside with the branch opening. Nations Trust Bank together with Sri Lanka Cricket carried out a talent search program to identify the finest fast and spin Bowlers in Jaffna. A Career Guidance workshop was conducted by the Bank experts in Human Resource Management in conjunction with the University of Jaffna where students were given an opportunity to attend the workshop free of charge and better acquaint themselves with information on various aspects and techniques to aid them in their careers. An inter-School Art Competition was also held amongst the schools in Jaffna along the theme, “My Jaffna” giving the children an opportunity to exhibit their talent in art.
