The yield on this transaction would be negatively impacted in the event of a significant appreciation of the US Dollar against LKR which could result in a reduction of the initial yield of 15.00%.
The US Dollar having started the year at 108.60 has appreciated during the year and currently trades at 107.75. The Dollar is expected to continue its range bound trade during 2008 and remain flat to avoid the impact of imported inflation on the local economy.
Nations Trust Bank PLC would closely monitor the movement of USD/LKR exchange rate and provide regular market view/updates to investors, thus enabling investors to exit the investment prior to maturity if the need arises. |
